Read: James 5:19-20

James' final encouragement is to not give up on those who has given up on God.

Having read James' instruction on walking the talk, it is not surprising that some has found Jesus' teachings too hard to live out. And they have walked away.

James says the proper response to someone who leaves the community is not resentment or hostility, but to actively see restoration. It is a special privilege to bring someone back to community and restore fellowship.

And with that, James finishes his treaty on the life of authentic faith - a walk that matches the talk.

Think about your faith story: have you ever wandered from the faith? If you have, who helped you find your way back?

Do you know someone who has wandered from the faith and has not returned?

Pray
What is God saying to you today?

Talk to God about your experience of walking away from him, and about those who have walked away and have stayed away.

Ask God for the wisdom and compassion to walk along side someone who feels disillusioned about their faith. Ask God how you can help restore their faith in God.

Pray for an experience of God's love, grace and mercy as you love someone back into his Kingdom, and as you witness God's uncompromising love for his people.
