While moses insists on his lack of verbal abilities, the Historian makes a list of Moses' and Aaron's ancestors.
Old Testament names lists are generally meaningless to us. But there was a time when people can point to that list and recognize the name of Moses' grandfather, and his grandfather's grandfather. For these people, the name list is hardly meaningless. Because they are the names of the families who produced the guy whom God used to fight for their freedom. Thanks to Moses and Aaron, their family who once were enslaved to make bricks for a crazy tyrannt, now live with dignity in a new land as land owners.
And the historian, probably Moses reminds us he is a reluctant hero. He is the guy who stutters. And it is God who managed to do the unimaginable through an ordinary guy.
