Read: Exodus 2:1-10

Moses should have been dead.

The Exodus historian tells us that when Moses' parents were from the tribe of Levi.  When he was born, his mother hid him as long as she could.  But the inevitable day came when she had to obey the Pharaoh's edict and put her baby into the Nile.

But Moses' mother was clever. Instead of just dropping her baby into the river to certain doom, she first made a raft out of reed.  She then floated Moses along the water's edge.  It was a Hail Mary move.  She left Moses' sister watching at a distance to see what would become of baby Moses.

The most lucky thing happened.  The current of the river carried Moses to the spot where the Egyptian Princess happened to be bathing.  And instead of finishing of the baby, she adopted him and hired Moses' mother as a wet nurse.

Moses should have been dead.  But he went into the Nile as a Hebrew baby, but came out as an Egyptian prince with a royal upbringing and education.

There is not mention of God in all this.  But if God didn't have anything to do with this, then Moses must be the luckiest man ever lived.
